The clear top layer that takes scratches, scuffs and claws. It decides how long the floor looks new, not how thick it feels. 12 mil suits bedrooms, offices and rentals; 20 mil is the commercial spec for kitchens, hallways and pets.
Total plank thickness, attached pad included. A thicker plank feels more solid, sounds less hollow and bridges small subfloor dips better. It does not change scratch resistance: that is the wear layer.
Materials per square foot. Installation by our crews in the Sacramento area adds $2.35 per sqft; removal, baseboard and stairs are priced per room.
A collection is one spec (thickness, wear layer, width) in several colors. Mixing colors from one collection keeps the floor height and feel identical between rooms.

Wide or narrow for your room?
Wide planks make a room read calmer and larger: fewer seams across the floor, more of each wood grain visible. Four of our five LVP collections run 9 inches wide and 60 inches long.
9 inch planks suit open plans, living rooms and long hallways, and they look current in a way 5 to 6 inch vinyl does not. In a small bathroom or a busy hallway with many doorways, a narrower plank can look more in scale; that is what our 7 inch KONO Pacific is for.
Wide planks need a flat subfloor, because a long, wide board shows dips more than a short one. Our crews check flatness before quoting and level where needed. Installed, wide plank LVP starts at $4.55 per sqft in the Sacramento area.
