The floor is half the job. The other half is a crew that measures with a laser instead of a guess, tests the slab instead of hoping, and works for KONO instead of for whoever bid lowest this week. That half is the one that decides how your floor looks in year ten.
What a correct install includes.
Every one of these happens on every KONO job. When a cheaper bid skips them, it is not cheaper. It is unfinished.
Sacramento slabs hold winter moisture you cannot see. We meter every concrete floor and every suspect subfloor before committing your planks to it.
The industry spec, actually checked with a straightedge. High spots get ground, low spots get patched, because click joints fail over humps, not under feet.
Grinding, patching, re-screwing squeaks, all scoped and written as separate lines. Never buried in “labor,” never a day-two surprise.
Why W-2 crews matter: our installers are KONO employees, background-checked, trained on KONO product only. They install the same two floors every week, which is exactly why the results are boring, in the best possible way.
That is also what makes one warranty possible. When the company that sells you the floor and the company that installs it are the same company, there is nobody to blame but us, so we work like it.

A KONO crew clicks your lot-matched boxes into place. Underlayment, transitions, and trim are included in the installed price.
Walkthrough, then payment
You inspect every room with the crew lead. The balance is due only after you sign off, and the warranty covers plank and labor together.

Why floors fail (it’s almost never the plank).
Warranty claims across the industry tell one story: the board gets the blame, the installation did the damage. Here is what actually kills floors.
A slab that reads dry in July can push vapor all winter. Cupped boards get blamed on “cheap laminate” when a $40 meter reading would have caught it.
Click joints flex over every hump until they crack. The gap and peak you feel in year two was visible to a straightedge on day one.
Floating floors move with the seasons. Trim nailed through the plank, or zero perimeter gap, and the floor buckles in the first hot August.
Boxes straight off a cold truck into a warm house, clicked the same hour. The boards finish acclimating after installation, by gapping.
The honest conclusion: a mid-grade floor installed correctly outlives a premium floor installed badly. We would rather you take that sentence to a competitor than skip the moisture test.
Product and labor under a single lifetime residential warranty. No store-versus-installer ping-pong: one call, one responsible party.
Your dye lot number is logged with your order. A repair plank in 2031 comes from the same lot and disappears into the floor.
Deposit capped by California law at $1,000 or 10%; the balance is due only after your walkthrough sign-off.
Installation questions.
How long will my installation take?
Most single-story Sacramento homes run one to three days of installation. Demolition adds a day; serious subfloor correction adds another. Your fixed quote includes the schedule, and the crew lead texts you a start time the evening before.
Do you install flooring bought somewhere else?
No, and it is not an upsell trick. One lifetime warranty on product and labor together only works when we control both. If you already bought elsewhere, we will still hand you our prep checklist so any installer can do the job right.
Do I have to move furniture and appliances?
Our crews move normal furniture room to room as they work. It is its own quoted line, so you can do it yourself and save. Pianos, aquariums, and gun safes get a specialty mover; we will tell you before quote day, not on install day.
What happens if something goes wrong in year three?
You call the same number that sold you the floor. Because product and labor sit under one lifetime residential warranty, there is no store-versus-installer finger-pointing to referee: a KONO crew comes back, and the same dye lot is logged to your order for invisible repairs.
