Most laminate walls at the big-box store are forty SKUs of forty different specs. KONO Laminate is one engineered board — 12 mm Austrian-designed HDF core, AC5 commercial wear layer, licensed Uniclic® click joint — pressed in eight colors on production runs made exclusively for us.
One board, eight decisions.
This line is for real households: kids, dogs, sandy shoes, rolling office chairs. The AC5 wear rating is a commercial spec — rated for shops and hotel corridors — so a hallway and a kitchen are easy duty. The surface is waterproof (we filmed the 72-hour immersion test to prove it), and with our 1.5 mm acoustic underlayment the assembly reaches IIC/STC 68, which is why downstairs neighbors stop complaining. Materials start at $3.29 per sqft; installed by our own crews, most homes land near $6.79 all-in.
Every color on this page is physically in our Sacramento warehouse, and each SKU is stocked as a single production lot — we log your lot number with your order, every box matches, and the spare box you keep for repairs will still match in five years. That lot discipline is the whole reason we run eight deep colors instead of eighty thin ones.

Laminate vs LVP — which fits your home?
Laminate is the wood-feel choice: a thick, rigid board that sounds and walks like hardwood, with an AC5 surface that shrugs off claws and chair legs. It is the right call for living areas, hallways, and bedrooms — and the honest answer is that it is the wrong call for a full bathroom.
- Living rooms, halls, bedrooms — the 12 mm core feels and sounds closest to hardwood underfoot.
- Scratch resistance first — AC5 is the highest residential wear class we could buy.
- Kitchens with wipe-up habits — the surface is waterproof; standing water at seams for days is not its job.
Choose LVP instead if
- Full baths and laundry rooms — the SPC core has no wood fiber, so nothing can swell.
- Slab-on-grade moisture — vinyl does not care what the concrete is doing this winter.

Is 12 mm laminate worth it over 8 mm?
For how a floor feels, yes. The thicker core is stiffer over imperfect subfloors, quieter underfoot, and takes deeper surface embossing. We stock one thickness because we only wanted to get one board exactly right — every color here shares it.
Is laminate okay for a kitchen?
Yes, with normal wipe-up habits: the surface is waterproof and we filmed a 72-hour immersion test on it. For rooms where water sits — full baths, laundry — we will point you to KONO LVP instead, and we say so before you buy.
How fast can my floor be installed?
Every SKU on this page is on the ground in our Sacramento warehouse, so the schedule is set by the measure, not a mill in another hemisphere. Most homes are installed one to three days after demo, by our own crews.
Why only eight colors?
Because each one is stocked deep, in a single dye lot, with its number logged to your order. Eighty thin SKUs would mean mixed lots and unmatchable repairs. Eight deep ones mean every box matches — now and when you need a repair plank in 2031.
