Color groups are a guide: undertones shift with daylight and lamps, and one plank can sit in two groups. Pick up a free sample and look at it on your own floor.

The clear top layer that takes scratches, scuffs and claws. It decides how long the floor looks new, not how thick it feels. 12 mil suits bedrooms, offices and rentals; 20 mil is the commercial spec for kitchens, hallways and pets.

Total plank thickness, attached pad included. A thicker plank feels more solid, sounds less hollow and bridges small subfloor dips better. It does not change scratch resistance: that is the wear layer.

Materials per square foot. Installation by our crews in the Sacramento area adds $2.35 per sqft; removal, baseboard and stairs are priced per room.

A collection is one spec (thickness, wear layer, width) in several colors. Mixing colors from one collection keeps the floor height and feel identical between rooms.

Picking the right gray.

Gray vinyl plank runs from almost-white silver oak to charcoal graphite. These are the gray and gray-taupe colors across all KONO LVP collections.

Light grays (Silver, Cloud, Mist) keep a room bright and pair with white cabinets. Mid grays (Storm, Pewter, Slate) are the practical middle: they hide dust and dirt the best of any color. Warm grays with a taupe cast (Taupe, Pebble) bridge gray and beige and work with wood furniture.

If the rest of the house is warm (beige walls, honey cabinets), a cool gray floor can look blue next to them; that is when greige is the better pick. A sample on the actual floor settles it in a minute.

Gray questions, answered straight.

Is gray LVP still in style?

Cool, flat grays have given way to warmer tones, but gray with visible wood grain and a touch of warmth remains a safe, popular choice, especially in modern kitchens.

What gray floor hides dirt best?

A mid gray with some grain variation, like Storm or Pewter Oak.

Gray or greige?

Gray suits white, black and cool palettes; greige blends gray and beige for warmer homes. See greige LVP.
