Why the price says introductory: the wall program is new at KONO. $9.00 per sqft flat is the launch number for all four designs while the first container lands and per-design costs settle; final spec sheets publish with it. The designs themselves are locked.
See it in person.
Hand samples of every panel ride along on the Mobile Showroom van, and both families hang full-size on our Midtown wall. DIY-friendly by design; we will talk you through the layout.
From homes that live on it.
“Media room: better sound and it finally looks finished. Glue and a brad nailer, one Saturday.”
Robert Ellison, Curtis Park
“Restaurant-grade look in a 1940s dining room. The walnut reads richer at night under warm bulbs.”
Sofia Grant, Midtown Sacramento
Owner questions.
Do acoustic panels actually fix echo?
They calm it, measurably: the slat face over PET felt carries an NRC 0.8 rating. One wall will not soundproof a room against the neighbor's drums, but it audibly settles offices, media walls, and open kitchens.
Screws or glue?
Either. Screws through the felt base into studs are invisible between slats and back out clean if you move the wall later; construction adhesive is faster on flat drywall. Panels cut with a track saw or a sharp handsaw.
Vertical or horizontal?
Both work. Vertical slats stretch the ceiling taller; horizontal runs widen the wall. Keep one spare panel for rip cuts either way; the calculator above counts whole panels.
Is the wood real?
The slat faces are real wood veneer on an engineered core, CARB P2 compliant, mounted on a black HDF and PET felt base. Real-wood look and acoustics without real-wood movement.
